Enough ranting for a bit. Let's have some fun. Weasel has been digging in the archives in order to find a mystery voice which you can have a go at guessing. Earthlings will struggle, I hope. All you need to do is name the voice.
And also...Guess that show. Here is the theme tune of a huge American Show from the Sixties. This one may be difficult so here is a clue. The Star is impossible to Google if you have the parental lock on.
UPDATE: Time to put you out of your misery and, for those who have not yet listened and want to guess SPOILER ALERT! This Link will reveal the Mystery Voice. The equally cheesy sig tune is revealed in the comments section.
(For some reason the code for the two clips keeps getting mixed up. Sorry. We apologise for the technical fault and assure you that normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.)

An actual voice would help. ;-)
Sorry. Should be ok now!
Lost on voice .... maybe l need it on "DVD" ;-)
I remembered the second one!
It was of course the "Most Unlikely Cockney Chimneysweep Ever"'s own show.
The voice - It's Lawrence Olivier doing a singspiel version of a lost chapter of Sir Henry At Rawlinson End.
The show - well, it's very familiar, is all I can say. The Google clue made me think of something starring Barbara Bush or Fanny Craddock, but nothing there. The only US show I used to watch regularly was Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, and I don't think it's that. Nothing rude about Judy Carne in any case.

What, the famous Penis Van Lesbian?
That's Dirk Bogarde.
I thought too that it had a bit of Laurence Olivier about it, but then the suggestion of Dirk Bogarde seemed more compelling.
Antony Hopkins and Richard Burton also sprang to mind.
But the amount of sniffing leads to the conclusion it was an impersonator.
Not yourself by any chance WW?
Ah, I guess the clue is earthlings will struggle. And Patrick Stewart is a smoker, hence breathless. Am I warm?
A bit before my time (he lied)
I shall probably hum the signature tune all day now.
Thanks a bunch
Indeed it was Dirk Bogarde. Why on earth these luvvies get involved in such dreck is beyond me, except they must be very susceptable to flattery.
The equally cheesy theme tune is The Dick Van Dyke Show. I saw some clips of this recently and I had forgotten how broad and slap-sticky it was.
I didn't guess because I just hate to be wrong! ;)
