I live near Whitstable and often walk past stalls selling oysters. Yet I cannot bring myself to try them. How horribly parochial of me. There you go, my gastronomic reputation is in tatters...
Red that's where I had mine. I think you should try them anyway from that place Wheeler's Oyster Bar. They're not that expensive so even if you don't like them, you haven't wasted too much money. Dai!
Red - I am so glad you've said that. We went to Whitstable twice in the summer and I desperately wanted to try the oysters because I felt I should. I just couldn't bring myself to do it though.

Seems I am not the only one who isn't impressed by oysters.. Whelks yes, and of course mussels and cockles.
